NFC WEST REPORTER AND WILSON HATER.
Published 4/27/2023
Oh boy, the Seattle Seahawks sure are lucky to have that high draft pick this year, especially after Russell Wilson's less-than-stellar performance with the Denver Broncos. But hey, who needs a franchise quarterback when you have the opportunity to pick some guy who might not even be able to play due to off-the-field issues? Jalen Carter, anyone?
I mean, sure, the Seahawks have had some success with their first-round picks in the past, like when they selected Russell Okung and Earl Thomas back in 2010. But let's be real, who needs foundational pieces like that when you can just trade down or use your pick to acquire some veteran players? Jimmy Graham and Percy Harvin worked out great, didn't they?
And speaking of flexibility, why bother sticking to a plan when you can just wing it and hope for the best? Schneider seems to think that's a great strategy for the first round. Who needs a solid game plan when you have "a lot of different scenarios" and "a lot of different ways we can go," right?
But hey, with 10 picks overall and five in the top 83, the Seahawks have plenty of opportunities to hit it big. Maybe they can find someone to help out with that abysmal run defense from last year. Or maybe they can grab a third wide receiver to complement DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Or, you know, they could just add another offensive lineman to the mix and hope for the best.
Overall, it's clear that the Seahawks are in a great position heading into this year's draft. I mean, who needs a clear strategy or a solid plan when you can just hope for the best and see what happens? It's worked out great for them in the past, right?
I can't believe we were able to get rid of you!
